Great Pumpkin Train (today through Sunday)
The North Shore Scenic Railroad’s Great Pumpkin Train runs Thursday–Sunday, Oct. 15–18, 2026, with departures at 10:30 a.m., 1:00 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. each day from the Depot area in Duluth. The railroad and the Duluth News Tribune both describe an about 90-minute round trip that includes a stop so ticketed passengers can pick a pumpkin; Visit Duluth lists the same Oct. 15–18 window. Museum admission at the Lake Superior Railroad Museum is included with the excursion on the railroad’s event page — check that page for ticket options, Domecar seating and museum hours before you go.
Haunted Ship tonight on Harbor Drive
The Duluth Haunted Ship (William A. Irvin) is open Thursday, Oct. 15, from 6:30–10:00 p.m. at 301 Harbor Drive, Duluth. The attraction’s schedule and Visit Duluth both list those hours for tonight and flag it as a discount evening (general admission listed at $20 on discount days, with other ticket tiers on the Haunted Ship tickets page). Arrive anytime during open hours for the date on your ticket; confirm last-minute details with the DECC / Haunted Ship before you go.

Boo at the Zoo returns Saturday, Oct. 17, 10:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m. at the Lake Superior Zoo (member hour 9–10 a.m.). The zoo and Visit Duluth both list Oct. 10, 17 and 24; advance non-member tickets are listed at $15 on the zoo site and in the News Tribune roundup.
Glensheen Lantern Tours continue on Fridays and Saturdays in October, including Oct. 16 and 17 (Visit Duluth lists 6:30–9:00 p.m.; Glensheen’s page describes a family-friendly ~45-minute tour plus bonfire time). Book through Glensheen.
